Privacy Policy
Last updated: 3 May 2026
1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy describes how WEB3DS (“we”, “us”) handles personal data in connection with the website web3ds.de and related digital services we offer (together, the “Services”). WEB3DS provides on‑premise and institutional‑grade data tooling for DeFi and crypto tax reporting workflows.
For privacy questions, contact: support@web3ds.de.
2. Scope
This policy applies to information we process when you visit our website, use our demo or marketing pages, subscribe to updates, or contact us (e.g. via forms or email). If you deploy WEB3DS software in your own infrastructure, your organisation typically acts as controller for blockchain and portfolio data processed there — we encourage separate data‑processing terms for those engagements.
3. Data we collect
- Contact and identification: name, email address, company name, role, and similar details you provide voluntarily.
- Communications: message content and metadata from emails or contact forms.
- Technical data: IP address, approximate location derived from IP, browser type, device type, pages viewed, and timestamps — via cookies or similar technologies where permitted.
- Demo or product usage (if applicable): identifiers and usage logs required to operate and secure any online demo or trial we offer, as disclosed at collection.
We do not ask you to submit wallet addresses, private keys, or seed phrases through our general marketing website.
4. Purposes and legal bases (EEA / UK)
We process personal data to:
- Respond to enquiries and provide support — legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) and, where relevant, contract (Art. 6(1)(b)).
- Maintain website security and prevent abuse — legitimate interests.
- Send transactional or legally required notices — legal obligation or contract as applicable.
- Where we rely on consent (e.g. certain marketing cookies or newsletters), — consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you may withdraw.
5. Retention
We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes above, including legal, accounting, or dispute requirements. Enquiry data is typically retained for a limited period unless a longer period is required for an ongoing relationship or legal claim.
6. Recipients and transfers
We use trusted service providers (e.g. hosting, email delivery, analytics) that process data on our instructions. If a provider is located outside the EEA, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses where required.
7. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or port your data, and to object to certain processing. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise rights, contact support@web3ds.de.
8. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data. No method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure; we encourage you to use secure channels when sharing sensitive business information.
9. Cookies
We may use necessary cookies for site operation and, where you consent, analytics or preference cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings; some features may not work if cookies are disabled.
10. Children
The Services are not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
11. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the latest version. Material changes will be communicated where appropriate.
